The garden is terraced and we have a pool so not suitable for small children or anyone who has difficulty on slopes/rough ground.

This Garden is open to visit by appointment.

This terraced garden of 5000 sq m in the Bandol wine district lies on a hillside overlooking the town of Le Beausset. The area is characterised by its dry summers, the wind of the mistral and limestone cliffs. Yet it is surprisingly green with Pine, Almond, Olives, Oleander, Lavender and all the traditional Provençal herbs flourishing. The poor soil, in which the red mourvèdre grapes thrive, is a challenge for the gardener. Come and enjoy the views, scent and a refreshing drink. Fresh herbs for sale; small ceramic studio. Also, there is a 15 minute walk (uphill!) to the 12th century chapel of Notre Dame, which has a spectacular 360 deg view to the sea and surrounding countryside.

Le Beausset is a few km from the main A50 motorway from Aubagne to Toulon. Take junction 11 and follow the signs to the town. When driving along the main road through the town (RN559b), you will come to a mini-roundabout with a Total gas station/car wash on the corner. This is Chemin des Plâtrières. Follow the road uphill for about 1km. You will get to a point where the road takes a 90 deg left bend. At this point just go straight ahead and up our driveway (which is a bit steep). There is only space for 3 cars to park, but you can park just before the entrance to our neighbours house (862) if needed. I can be contacted by email on alice@hurleywalker.com if you are visiting the area and want to come by.
