This Garden is open to visit by appointment.
As beecentric beekeepers, we focus our main attention to ‘growing beefood’ in our 5300 sqm garden. From annual flowers to specific shrubs that provide the bees, and other pollinating insects, pollen and nectar all year round. We spread sowing of the annuals throughout the season so there is always something in flower. We emphasise on plants that have a high value of pollen, and grow in big patches and concentration of same flowers. We try to mix in flowers for cooler temperatures, and ones that give off most in hot weather. We added this specific bee garden to our more established gardens in the winter and spring of 2017. Though it’s a fairly new garden, it’s been giving a lot of forage to our bees from the start. And the best coincidence is, that these flowers make for a beautiful garden too! Apart from growing food for our bees we also grow our own vegetables, as much as possible anyway, and have planted 30 half stam fruit trees and fruit bushes over the past few years. In our veg patch, we follow the no dig system. Our motto for the coming years: Less grass, more flowers! Note: we are beekeepers and have beehives in our garden. So we ask all visitors to respect the signs and directions we will put up. We will be very happy to chat about bees and beecentric beekeeping with you!
