This Garden is open to visit by appointment.
Our garden, Birdsong, has evolved over the years from a sandy south facing slope of brambles and nettles to two main areas, the flower garden and the vegetable garden. During our time here numerous trees, ornamental shrubs and countless different varieties of flower have been added. The ‘lay of the land’ has dictated the layout of the garden and we strive to work with nature. We consider ourselves to be experimental gardeners and have not been scared to make changes when ideas have not worked out as envisaged. We are currently working towards a garden that will be easier to maintain as we mature. Is there such a thing as an easy to maintain garden? Our belief is that Birdsong reflects our personalities and sense of humour. We can claim to have something in flower and something to eat from the potager every day of the year.
Sheila’s speciality is rare snowdrops and has an ever-increasing collection whilst Ian's speciality is heritage tomatoes.
